# Discord and Telegram

> Send every new response to a Discord channel or a Telegram chat.

## Discord

Open the form's **Integrations** tab, choose **Discord**, and connect your Discord server. Pick a channel SurveyOwl is allowed to post in, then save. Submit a test response to confirm the permissions and the message look right.

## Telegram

1. In Telegram, message @BotFather, send `/newbot`, choose a name and username, and copy the bot token it gives you.
2. Add the bot to the place you want messages to appear. For a group, add it as a member. For a channel, add it as an admin with permission to post. For a direct message, open the bot and press **Start**.
3. Find the chat ID. One way is to add @RawDataBot to the chat and read `chat.id` from its reply, then remove it. IDs for groups and channels are negative numbers.
4. In SurveyOwl, open **Integrations**, choose **Telegram**, and enter the **Bot Token** and **Chat ID**. Save and submit a test response.

SurveyOwl stores the bot token securely and never shows it again after you save. Leave the field blank when you edit the integration to keep the saved one.

<Warning>
  **Keep bot tokens private.** Anyone holding the token can act as your bot. If it leaks, revoke it with @BotFather and save the new one.
</Warning>
