# Route respondents to another page

> Create different paths through a form with question and page actions.

Page routing lets an answer send someone to a later page or submit the form early. It is useful when different respondents need different follow-up questions.

## Before you add routing

Create the pages first and give each one a clear topic. Routing only points forward, so nobody can get stuck in a loop.

## Add a route

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick a choice question">
    Routing works on choice questions such as Multiple Choice, Dropdown and Yes/No. Use one on the page where the path should split.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn on Jump based on answer">
    Open the block menu and switch on **Jump based on answer**. Each answer gets its own destination: a later page, or **Submit form**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set what happens after the page">
    A page's **After this page** menu controls where everyone goes by default. It starts as **Continue to next page**. An answer-specific jump wins over the page setting.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Test every path

Preview the form and choose each answer involved in routing. Confirm that required questions on skipped pages do not block submission and that the ending still makes sense for every route.

<Warning>
  **Moving or deleting pages can change routes.** Review routing after reorganizing a form. References that are no longer valid are cleaned up automatically, but only you can confirm that the revised journey still matches your intent.
